Crusty Burke Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Can anyone give me advice on how to configure timeline.exe? All I get is a blank EPG when I run it. It has been installed in my Program Files/DVBViewer/Plugins directory. Also I'm a vista ultimate user and can't get any plugins to appear in DVBViewer. I have installed them in the Program Files/DVBViewer/Plugins directory but don't see them in DVBViewer. Quote

Tjod Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Everything looks normal for me. Try the Postprocessor Plugin ( http://www.DVBViewer.com/members/ ) is it in the Plugin menu? Quote
Crusty Burke Posted September 14, 2008 Author Posted September 14, 2008 (edited) Everything looks normal for me. Try the Postprocessor Plugin ( http://www.DVBViewer.com/members/ ) is it in the Plugin menu? OK - I think I now know what the problem is. Vista's security settings block unzipping of files to specific directories (such as the Program Files directory) by default. To get around this I was unzipping the plugins to my Downloads directory and manually pasting the files into the Plugins directory. I tried first to install the postprocessor plugin as you suggested - it didn't appear on the plugins list in DVBViewer. So after some head scratching I checked the security settings and granted myself (the Administrator!) the right to update all directories. I unzipped the Postprocessor plugin directly into the Plugins directory and started DVBViewer. This time I could see the Postprocessor plugin in DVBViewer. So I guess the key issue for me and possibly other Vista users is to make sure full access rights are given to the Administrator first! Thanks for all your help and patience.
