clb Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 I cannot get on screen any DVB-S2 channel (mainly Arte HD, ANIXE HD or Astra HD). The image frezzes in less than three seconds and no sound. I made a try with Transedit (3.2.2)/Preview Channel and it worked fine. I wouls appreciate any assistance. reis Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Have you tried the "new tuning method"? You'll find it here: Settings- Options - Hardware. I remember my S2-3200 didn't show any DVB-S2 channel without that option, though I used a different version of driver and DVBViewer. Quote
clb Posted September 21, 2008 Author Posted September 21, 2008 Thanks, reis, for your advice. Unfortunately I am not able to find the "new tuning method" in the "hardware" setting of options : both are not available in the DVBViewer version (3.9.4.0) I am using Quote
reis Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 That's strange. I'm using the same Technotrend driver version (5.0.0.19) for my SkystarHD and DVBViewer 3.9.0.4, too. You might try to add the setting manually by adding the following line to the card's section in your hardware.xml:
1
Quote
clb Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 Reis, I first must apologize for my morning post : I was using the french DVBViewer interface ! Switching to the English interface, I found "Hardware" and "New tuning method" in Options. Setting "New tuning method gives the following : the video does not freeze as before, but is jerky, although it worked correctly during 5s. Going to the DVBSource window, i got the following information : H264 Video 16:9 1280/720 50fps 1.7 Mbs Last error : Graph too late (47) Discontinuities : [an incresing high number I then tried to rebuild the graph : no improvement! I hope this information will help ! Quote
Griga Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Discontinuities : [an incresing high number] Which means, the stream received by DVBViewer is already corrupted. A lot of data is missing. May be due to bad reception, or to some driver/hardware issue. Quote
clb Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 Yes, Griga, maybe you are right, but how to explain that with Transedit/Preview Channel the video is OK, while on DVBViewer, it's jerky? Quote
