do I need to set Diseqc settings-confused?

Hi, Im about to install my Hauppage win TV Nova HD S2 card & DVBViewer tonight for the first time.

This will be connected to my existing Sky mini Dish which has a single output LNB.

I believe the satelites I will be searching on are Astra 28E and Eurobird with the intention of picking up the usual free sat channels including BBC HD and ITV HD.

This talk about DISEQC settings is confusing me. Is this for motorised systems that can change position to another satellite group??

What should I set my Diseqc settings to in the initial set-up since i think i need to do thid before I channel search.

Also, while im on.....Can I just search on FTA channels to save time or might this obsure some available channels such as ITV HD, ( I had the impression from a post I read that it might)

Thanks in anticipation of a quick response.

As you have only 1 LNB you don't need DiSEqC commands to be send, so you have to set it to "none"...

AFAIK you don't save any time on scanning only FTA; if you want you can filter the results after the scanning...

HD channels can be FTA or not, and they are filtered - as the others - only and exactly by this var...

Just an update and thanks again.

All went very well last night. Isn't BBC HD quite amazing!.

Had a slight niggle getting the 5.1 AC3 to work from the Tudors over S/DIF but got it sussed in the end.
