Psymiley Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Just noticed something - cant see why: I had a channel on timeshift and decided I wanted to record the program. So I rewind back to the program start and hit record. At the end of the program, I stopped it. But when I checked the recorded file, it was from the time I hit record and not the point I rewound to. Is there a hidden setting to record from the buffer instead of live feed? Quote
Griga Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 Is there a hidden setting to record from the buffer instead of live feed? No, there isn't. But you can tick DVBViewer -> Keep Timeshift File, and the "buffer" will remain on your hard disk as TS file. TSPlayer allows to extract the desired part. Quote

TSPlayer allows to extract the desired part. Guess that's usable. Can you do this on-the-fly? Otherwise I might put a request on the wishlist, 'Dump Timeshift' or 'Keep current timeshift for this channel' as I wouldn't want the timeshift kept all of the time, just when I decide I want to keep the one from the channel i'm watching. It's quite often where I'll watch a show, or turn the TV on and catch the last 5 mins of a program that's been on, then want to catch the whole show. I know I can rewind via timeshift, but I'd like to just hit 'Dump' (or even better - use the EPG and have 'Save Show') or 'keep timeshift for current channel' (which disables if I change channel) I will play with the settings later, 'hopefully' it can be mappable.
