Flepp Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 Hello First of all congratulation for this new version of Transedit with removal of Inactive channel option. . Been waiting long time for an option like this with DVBViewer Suite. But i found a problem with Mandatory Audio Pid algorythm when Multiple Audio Tracks are present. - This principle only seem to work with Treshold "8"and above. If i lower the treshold, Transedit gives very strange results and doesn't recognize the wrong audio pid. Simply try change audio pid of a channel with more than one Audio Track or delete an Audio track and then scan this transponder with Transedit with a lower than 8 Treshold. - Second problem is that new audio track is recognized (at least with Treshold 8) but the inactive audio track is not put into the inactive list. With all other channels the inactive Channel removal works like a charm. Thank you very much Flepp Quote
Griga Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I can't reproduce it. The expected behaviour is as follows: - If the scan result (!) contains more than one audio track, every track entry in the Scanner Window with an audio PID that is not present in the channellist is regarded as "not present" (not marked at all), regardless of other matching parameters or the treshold. - The Inactive Channels function is an Inactive Channels function, no Inactive Audio Tracks function. As long as at least one audio track of a channel from the channellist is found, the channel is regarded as active. So please let me see an example (screenshot). Quote
Flepp Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 I can't reproduce it. For example: I change Bayerische FS Nord (deu) Audio pid from 202 to 333. Transedit should now find new Audio track with Pid 202 because it is not present in channellist anymore. (Autoupdate disabled in DVBViewer) Now i scan the transponder 11836 H with Transedit Here is the result with Treshold 8 The Audio track is found correctly and can be send to the channellist. Here is the result with Treshold 7 Channelname, SID, PMT are are highlighted Quote
Flepp Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 Fyi I tested with older version and it seems to be the same problem. Quote
Flepp Posted October 15, 2008 Author Posted October 15, 2008 Fyi I tested with older version and it seems to be the same problem. Here some more info Problem appears when same Audio Pid is used on different Channels from the same transponder. It looks like Transedit does not look to which PMT the Audio Pid belongs in the Channellist. I think when making Audio PID mandatory, APID/PMT should not be dissociated and should always be considered as a pair, because PMT has all the info to decode the channel thus all the Audio tracks. Griga Posted October 15, 2008 Posted October 15, 2008 I think when making Audio PID mandatory, APID/PMT should not be dissociated and should always be considered as a pair, Making the PMT PID mandatory as a kind of "anchor" would mean that a wrong or missing PMT PID in the channellist wouldn't be visible anymore. Parameters that are used as anchors (like the frequency) cannot be detected as differing. Another example: The channel auto update function DVBViewer uses the Service ID (among other data) as anchor, but not the transportstream ID. So a wrong service ID can't be corrected by this function, but a wrong or missing transportstream ID can be corrected, in order to enable EPG data -> channel assignment. See what I mean? There has already been a lengthy discussion in the German section of the forum about this topic, and some people have very specific ideas about how comparing scan results with channellist entries should be implemented. However, having ideas and putting them into practice are different kettles of fish... Quote
