spv4u Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 Hi I was using the old HTP server fine but needed to update to the recording service as I am getting a popcorn box and wanted to use the advanced freatures thet the recoding service gives. However I removed all the files from the old HTTP server and installed the latest version of the recording service. I can now log into the web page fine but there is no channels, timeline or EPG listed. When I open the service Control and click on Reload Timers i get nothing as well yet I have lots of timers within DVBViewer. I do have the use recording service option ticked within the plugins but still no joy Can anyone advise what has gone wrong? Cheers Quote

spv4u Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Hi here is the file with the info Sorry i did not know that tool existed. After a reboot this morning the web page will not even allow me to login, it just keeps coming up with the user and password box. Logon has full admin rights in XP pro. Checked the user and password were correct in the usersettings.xml under web user and they are. Really stuck now Any help would be great support.zip Quote
Lars_MQ Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 The recording service can not work in Usermode=1 as it is written in the readme. Please change your usermode.ini. Quote
spv4u Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 OK I have now reinstalled DVBViewer as an install for all users and the service is running fine. I added the channels and favorites by manually copying the files from the old setup. The only issue I have now is that the web interface will not allow me to select the favorite file so that the channels in the timeline are displayed in the correct order. Almost there Quote
spv4u Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 Just for clarification everything is working apart from the dropdown option on the web config page where you can useually select all channels or favorite channels. My dropdown is just blank. DVBViewer is working fine with channel list and favorites so I dont understand where it has gone wrong. I can only think that when you do a channel scan and create a favorite something is written away which the web guide is trying to find, but as I just copied the files in manually from my last install this has not happened. If anyone knows where the web page looks or can give me some advise that would be a great help Cheers Quote
Gioxy Posted October 27, 2008 Posted October 27, 2008 the web interface will not allow me to select the favorite file As you sure know, RecordingService is still in beta release and therefore somewhat incomplete... In particular, the function you mention was introduced in the ver. 1.4.4.10, but, as you can read in the relative announce: • New: Configuration Favorite lists selection added. At the moment without effect. So we have to patiently wait for next versions... Quote
spv4u Posted October 27, 2008 Author Posted October 27, 2008 OK thanks I am not actually using it as a recorder as my DVBViewer is running all the time and that copes fine with my timers and recordings. The only reason I use it is because it contains the popcorn interface which works with my iStarHD NMT box. What would be great is if the author can port this interface into the HTTP server. I'm sure there will be other users who just want the popcorn addition but dont want to run the recording server. I think i'll drop a post into that forum as well as a proposed update for the http server Quote
