Timer working only when DVDViewer is running?

Hello, is the Timer enabled only whne DVBViewer is running?

Why is that? Isn't it possible to run indepedently the two of them?

there are some ways.... for example you coult use the taskscheduler (see membersection) to let windows start DVBViewer automatically if a recording is about to begin (this can even wake up the pc from standby).

 

another possibility would be to use the recordingservice, which is running completely in the background and doing recordings, but has some disadvantages (for example you can't use the same dvb hardware for recording and watching at the same time, with only one card you could only watch recordings)

 

These methods are described on various forum posts, you should take some time and read about them and then decide which one to test.
