ITV HD doesn't work in HTPC mode

Hi,

ITV HD works OK initially in HTPC mode, the first time I put it on, but after that it doesn't. If I switch to another channel then back to ITV HD I just get a blank black screen and DVBViewer doesn't pick up the 'AC3 2.0' sound that it does when it works.

BBC HD works OK though. It happens with either the ffdshow or CoreAVC h264 codec.

Has anyone else noticed this?

To fix it, I have to switch DVBViewer back to Windows mode, tune to ITV HD (which always works in Windows mode) then go back to HTPC mode. It work again after that, but only until I change channel.

Thanks!

AFAIK ITV HD has changed it's transmission policy. When there's no programme only the tables are transmitted but no useful streams (e.g. a test card or a mute audio channel). At the moment you can watch the FA Cup :)

Thanks for the reply Derrick but unfortunately the test card and subsequently the football did appear absolutely perfect in DVBViewer in Windows mode, but failed to appear in HTPC mode after changing channels away then back to ITV HD again.

I'll try it on a different tuner tonight and let you know.

Tried this with a different tuner card and couldn't repeat the problem. It was a rubbish USB tuner I was using, I'll chuck it out.

Hi

I am new to DVBV and the "user manual" available under help appears to be for an earlier version (none of the example screens match the v4.0 screens) :)

What are you refering to when you say "windows mode" and "HTPC mode" I can't see any reference in the help???

do you mean "window mode" and "full screen mode"
