CellZapper Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 I have tried to find the answer to this question with several seaches, no joy... If YOU have tried both the Skystar HD and the HD2 (also I believe the AZUREWAVE AD-SP400 / TWINHAN DVB-S2 is the same card). what are the advantages of either model, HD or HD2? would you choose the AZUREWAVE AD-SP400 / TWINHAN DVB-S2 instead of the Skystar HD2 All four are freely available. But I note that there appear to be a lot of problems with the HD2, (but it is mostly translated from german, and I lost a lot in the translation) Does DVBViewer support one better than the other. I have a compro s350 and would like to move to a card that supports a CI module, and I am considering DVBveiwer to replace the compro (clunky) software any way. With 15 years experience with satellite recievers, I am new to satellite on PC's and there is a mine field to negotiate....... Thanks for any comments. Chris Quote
fxv1 Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Just watched the Chelsea v Southend game on ITV HD and it was spot on using Azurewave. I run that on an ATI 3870 and was very impressed with the quality. Had a few issues with software decoders etc and the early ATI software but the card itself never gave me any problems and is excellent. Never had a Skystar HD2 so cannot comment. My OS is VISTA 32 bit. If you have questions just ask. Frank Quote
Milly Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 (edited) I have the hd2 and it is also smashing tech support is lacking a bit, but i guess this would be the same for both devices?? is hd dvb-s2 if not then i'd go for the hd2 to future proof yourself as itv and bbc hd WILL eventually go that way... Oh and ..."AZUREWAVE AD-SP400 / TWINHAN DVB-S2 instead of the Skystar HD2" they are all the same just re-branded! Edited January 16, 2009 by Milly Quote
