byfly Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 Hi, I've been working towards to have a totally HTPC Moded DVBV. At the moment I'm still validating codecs and basic use. So I have to frequently use the options menu. If I set HTPCMode to 2, I'm not allowed to use it. Is there anyway around this? The real problem is that if I have HTPCMode set to 1, Windows Vista taskbar blinks in the bottom of the screen. Though only as a few pixels high, but still it's very anoying. Is this the intended function for the HTPCMode? What are the full limitations and functions in different modes? The tweaks.txt doesn't specify them so detailed. Thanks! Quote
Moses Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 Don't use the HTPC Modes... they are not necessary (that's why they are moved to the tweaks.txt). If you are on 2 or higher, you can unlock the htpc mode via osd menue. But as I said: it's not necessary... start in fullscreen and stay in front should be enough. Quote
byfly Posted January 20, 2009 Author Posted January 20, 2009 Ok. So the thing I like about it is that it doesn't open in a window first. It goes straight to full screen. And for a true HTPC use that is a must. Quote
Moses Posted January 20, 2009 Posted January 20, 2009 Why is that a must? My HTPC only seldom reboots... normaly it's suspended to standby and DVBViewer is still runing... so I'll see DVBViewer starting up every two weeks or something like that... I can't see where it's a "must" it doesn't open a window for a few seconds... (you already found the option "start in fulscreen mode", right?) Quote
byfly Posted January 21, 2009 Author Posted January 21, 2009 Ok, so meaby it's just at the moment when I'm still testing & using the htpc for toher stuff also. Another thing that I noticed, is that when using MarkusK's refresh rate changer Windows task bar pops on top if DVBV isn't in HTPC mode 2. That's because it uses ATI CCC to change the profile. Quote
