Hello everybody

I am having some problems with my settings to my tv screen 42 " Philips lcd hdmi hdmi when watchin a television program with scrolling text or downhill skiing or ice hockey. Some movements like when a downhill acer touch a pin I can see more tha one pin (or how I should describe). The picture just in some particular moments seems unsharp however am I really satisfied withj DVBViewer.

Using DVBViewer 4 Nvidia pure video codec tried almost all settings I can think of. Om my second htpc conected to a crt tv via vga scart running power strip is much more cleaner picture. Anyone having similar problem or am I alone. I would be really greatfull for help.

Hello,

Nvidia pure video filter is not well designed for DVB applications.

Please test Cyberlink 7 or 8.

Alternatively, latest Arcsoft filters are not bad either.

AGP cards should be avoided as it is not possible to get perfect desinterlacing nor IGP.

The graphic card shouldnot be too old too.

I would say Pure Video is outstanding, and that the problem is likely to be with a setting on the TV itself. Many sets don't know when to deinterlace, and when to leave the image alone, various forms of 100hz can cause problems as well, so try and switch off all "special" modes and forms of processing on the TV. You also want to make sure the TV and the HTPC are running at the same frequency. If you output 60hz to a 50hz TV, you can get these sort of problems. As always, it's hard to diagnose the exact problem without being able to see it, but this should at least give you some things to try. The reason it looks ok on your CRT is because that's an interlaced display, and no processing is required.
