antdude Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Hi! 1. Is there a way to have DVBViewer Pro v4.0's Timer to record in timeshift mode, instead of recording? I'd like to have it record with timeshift, then I can watch my recording right away after it started recording. 2. Is there a way to record the signal strengths into a text file as a statistics log? If these two features do not exist, then I'd like to see them implemented in the future versions. Thank you in advance. Quote
Moses Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 1. You can watch every recording "right away after it started"... there is no need for a "timeshift mode"... Quote
Tjod Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 1. Just open the the recorded file. You can watch it in the DVBViewer also while the DVBViewer is still recording this file. 2. There is no possibility to log the signal strengths (the signal strengths is not relay important more important is the signal quality. But the informations from the driver are in the most cases not relay useful). But if you activate Options > Recordings > Wright Log file there will be a log file for each recording with all Errors (discontinuity). Quote

This is a problem if I want to watch on TV with fullscreen overlay. ATI driver shows the first video fullscreen. I can't get the second video to show up on it. 2. Thanks. What's the best way to get signal quality datas then? Quote
Tjod Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 What's the best way to get signal quality datas then? The Information from the Driver are in many tims good enough to see if it get better or worse if you change something. But if you change something it will take some seconds until you see the result. And it is not possible to compare the results from tow different cards or driver versions. If you need better informations you need special measuring instrument. Quote
antdude Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Ah, what are these special measuring instruments? Another hardware device? Quote
Tjod Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Another hardware device?Yes e.g. Digital Satellite Meters for DVB-S Quote
antdude Posted January 25, 2009 Author Posted January 25, 2009 Yes e.g. Digital Satellite Meters for DVB-SThanks. I assume http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/amic...-DSM-3022-.html is an example to look for. Quote
