How do I get a version upgrade?

I'm sure I am demonstrating a level of incompetence and stupidity unprecedented in the annals of nerdery, but I really have looked everywhere on this web site and while I find some (ridiculously low-key) references to the availability of a version 4.0, I cannot find any information about how to get a version upgrade from 3.9.4.

 

If I have to re-purchase, then fine, it is not very expensive, but I would like to know I'm not missing a free or reduced price upgrade path!

 

This commercial diffidence is quite endearing, but you can take it too far! Most software companies trumpet their version upgrades with a re-designed home page and a battery of upgrade options to encourage existing customers to stick with them!

well you did get your userdata (username/password) for the membersarea when you purchased the viewer, didn't you? Simply log into the Membersarea and there you find the 4.0 and all the other stuff.

Douglas Adams is right, but is is also common for product designers to overestimate the amount of mind-space their customers will devote to their idiosyncratic ideas about how to do things! What's wrong with the way practically every other software company works - open download on the product with a time limited trial and sell a licence key?
