TerraTec/Hauppauge USB-CI

I purchased TerraTech USB-CI.

I am wondering, why the external CI box in my DVBViewer 4.0.0 still remains grey.

I Installed the driver for the CI interface, and Windows seems to recognice the HW and claims that it is working properly.

Ofcourse one thing that makes this challenging, is, that my DVB card isn't Terratec nor Hauppauge but WinTV...

What else SW is needed so that DVBViewer would notice the USB-CI?

Really...

Is this so stupid question that no-one bothers to answer anything?

The point in using the external CI was, that I supposed that it does not matter anymore, which of my multiple WinTV tuners is used for watching the pay tv channels. U C, when there are programmed recordings, the tuner with the conax and payttv card in it could be reserved by recording something on my hard disc. Then there is no way to watch paytv channels untill the recording is over. But if I was using an external CI, the card would be available more likely when needed.

So there are two questions:

1) is the Terratec or hauppuage USB CI interfaces supported in DVBViewer with every DVB device, as stated in changes document here: http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=31185

2) What SW is needed to DVBViewer to recognice the external CI? Anything else needed in addition to the USB CI driver that comes on CD with the device?

Please help me, as this would fix one big issue in my home theater...

1. it works with every dvb-card.

2. You have to install the drivers of the USB-CI according to the instructions (including the BDA stuff which should be done automatically by the driver installation). That's all.

Thanks Lars!

I need to check my installation again.
