Selcal Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 --Hi all, Running Vista HP x32, I'm having occasional crashes of DVBViewer. I can't pinpoint exactly when it happens; sometimes the program can go for hours without problem, then again it may crash after 10 minutes. I'm running a required plugin [removed], and DVBSbridge, which may be the problem. This is hard for me to determine for the reason above. I've at least once had DVBViewer crash without the DVBSbridge plugin installed, which is why I'm posting here to see if there are any pointers. I've attached the support.zip as requested. Further info: •exact TV-card modell and useed driver version Terratec Cinergy C PCI HD [removed]. Driver version 1.1.0.601. •type and chipset of the mainboard Mainboard Asus P5N7A-VM with Nvidia Geforce 9300/nForce 730i chipset •graphics card and useed driver version Build-in Geforce 9300, driver 7.15.11.8122 The DVBV log shows the same error for all the crashes; 21-2-2009 14:05:51 EAccessViolation raised by instance frmMain of class TfrmMain at 00413CCC:Zugriffsverletzung bei Adresse 00413CCC in Modul 'DVBViewer.exe'. Lesen von Adresse 0000009C The system event log shows: Faulting application DVBViewer.exe, version 4.0.0.0, time stamp 0x2a425e19, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00000000, process id 0x1768, application start time 0x01c9942804939000. Sometimes it will show the faulting modeule as ntdll.dll Anything you can see? support.zip Quote

Selcal Posted February 28, 2009 Author Posted February 28, 2009 You mentioned the reason and I am quite sure that this thread will be closed shortly... Ah.... Well that would explain something. My provider has just started FTA two channels. I'm currently running the FTA channel on DVBViewer to see if crashes repeat with no plugins at all. Back to the separate box I suppose, love to have six remotes.... :S Quote
Benarty Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Get a correct CAM module and valid smartcard: works great within DVBViewer. [removed] use: no suppport for it for obvious reasons. Six remotes? I use two, one for the mediacenter, another to control tuner, cd player, TV, amplifier Quote
Selcal Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 Get a correct CAM module and valid smartcard: works great within DVBViewer.[removed] use: no suppport for it for obvious reasons. Six remotes? I use two, one for the mediacenter, another to control tuner, cd player, TV, amplifier I would do but my cable provider does not provide a HD settopbox that doesn't crash regularly (same problem as now ). It also doesn't use normal Irdeto so a normal CAM module does not work. The only one that works is when using an Alphacrypt module, which is troublesome too. I do have a valid smartcard. Remotes: One remote for the TV One remote for the settopbox One remote for the amplifier/DVD player (in one) One remote for the Bluray player One remote for the separate HDD recorder that I'd need. Your're right, only five . With a mediacenter pc I can make that into two: TV & Mediacenter . Aside from that, I love DVBViewer as it's small and simple. Good news though; I've got it stable now (has been running for 30 hours now). So problem solved! If problems re-occur I will only post here if they occur also without the [removed]. Genuinly sorry to bother you with this and thanks for the pointers! Quote
