CalamityAce Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Yesterday I have installed DVBViewer on my htpc. During the installation wizard I got the message "No hardware available!" when I wanted to scan for channels. I tried a few times with different options, but it kept showing this. My card is FloppyDTV C with CI module and it is all running on Vista. The app you get with the floppydtv looks a lot like DVBViewer and there everything worked. Also in Mediaportal I was able to scan for channels and watch them. For some reason when I tried again later, I was able to do a channel scan and I was able to watch tv using DVBViewer. This was all done through remote desktop. Today I wanted to sort the channels, again using remote desktop, but when I open DVBViewer, it shows "No hardware available!" again. Yesterday the htpc was put into standy and today I woke it using WoL. I have seen some topics here about this message, but mostly caused by bad configuration. Since I was able to watch tv yesterday, my configuration must be ok. Is there anyone who knows what is causing this message to appear? The card is always found when scanning for hardware. I have the option Direct tuning enabled. This might have been the cause why it suddenly worked yesterday. Is it perhaps a problem when 3 different programs are using the tv card after one another? Is the standby a problem for DVBViewer? Again, Mediaportal is still working (but I want to get rid of that...). Perhaps the tv server from mediaportal keeps a kind of lock on the card? Any help is appreciated! Quote
Lars_MQ Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Perhaps the tv server from mediaportal keeps a kind of lock on the card? Yes, this has been the problem for several people here. Try to shut it down and try again. Quote
