aht961 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I have looked for an answer all over the forum to no avail, hope somebody might help. I have two identical DVB-C tuners (FloppyDTV) both with its own CAM module and identical twin subscription cards. Scenario 1: Both cards are tuned at the same channels. Let say TV1, TV2 and TV3. These are installed in a server/client setting. Since I have 2 cards and 2 (very same) subscription cards, I assume that if I remove ONE card from its slot (let say from tuner 1) and switch to channel TV1 (pay channel) at that very tuner, I should still see it since the DVBViewer is then switched to thé other available hardware with the subcription card. However, I get a blank screen and DVBViewer remains assigned to tuner 1 and does not check the availability of TV1 from tuner 2 (which has the subcription card installed). If I swap the card from tuner 2 to 1, it starts working again. This means that DVBViewr uses only one tuner card at a time even though I could see both cards installed and working. Does not it check the availability of the hardware for the very same channel? Do I have to enter similar channels twice one for tuner 1 and other one for tuner 2 like TV1-1 TV1-2? This will make the channel list too long. Scenario 2: Since I have two identical hardware with 2 subcription cards, I assume that I could record ONE FREE channel (let's say from tuner 1) and record another pay channel (from tuner 2), then I should be able to watch the channels from the same mux (free channels in the same mux from tuner 1 or in the same mux containing the payed-channel from tuner 2). But this does not hold true, I get the "no hardware available" notice. What am I doing wrong? In short: Should I put the very same channels (TV1, TV2, TV3) in two groups - A & B, i.e. TV1, TV2, TV3 = Channel A and TV1, TV2, TV3 = Channel B - and assign tuner 1 to Channel A and tuner 2 to Channel B, and make a favourite list with double entries like TV1, TV1, TV2, TV2, TV3, TV3 in order to have the twin cards to function. I though the DVBViewer should do this in a smart way like in twin-tuner top-sets? Very frustrated and would appreciate very much if some body could guide me in the right direction. Thanks. Quote
mborkP Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Hi, similar problem here. I've 2 SS2 cards installed with no CI,( free to air only) If I start to record channel A and switch to channel B, it plays B and records A.But it onlylasts for 5-10 seconds and then all stops. If I switch back to A the picture shows up and recording continues. I use dual boot PC and under Linux this combo works perfect (records channel A and watching channel B at the same time). I don't know if this is the driver or DVBV problem. Perhaps the DVBV developers will have a look at this and tell us where the problem might be. Thanks, Quote
mborkP Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Fixed that by setting all codecs for both cards to the same. Apology for hijacking your thread. Cheers Quote
