frazer Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Hello, I can't get DVBViewer (or Mytheatre for that matter) to recognize the Dragon Cam connected to my TT S2-3200. I have downloaded the necessary extra files, and know that the CAM works in my Nokia satellite receiver. I have also tried an old Aston CAM which doesn't work with the tt s2-3200 either. I tried first with the original Technotrend card to CI slot cable, and when it didn't work I tried to swap the cable around in case I had it back to front, but the cable broke apart when I removed it. So I got hold of another cable, which was though much longer than Technotrend recommend. Finally I found a very short one on eBay, but still it won't work. I bought the card, CI extension and Cam on eBay too, but was only sent a driver disc downloaded from the Technotrend website. Because of this I can't test with the Technotrend software as you need the original disc to install it; otherwise it fails at the point where it tries to install the codec. If anyone can supply me the software, or even the codec that comes with it which I could install on my machine, that might help to see if the problem is with the hardware; as I say, I bought them all on eBay, but I know the card and the CAM itself are working, so only the CI extension might possibly be faulty. Otherwise, does anyone else have any ideas what I might do to try and fix the issue? It's been a lot of bother already just to get Channel 4 HD, but that would at least double the number of (proper) UK HD channels I can watch! Thank you! Frazer support.zip Quote
trifon33 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 HI, Not hard to find the driver update from the Technotrend website: http://www.technotrend.de/2899/PC-Produkte.html Only issue is when installing TT DVB software, the official CD including PowerDVD 7 is requested, but with DVBViewer, no problem. Regarding CAM compatibility, I know that de S2 3200 is rather touchy with some unofficial CAM needing lot of power. Powercam pro for instance. If the Astoncrypt is requested, usualy, it is necssary to own the 2.** version with firmware updated...2.18 presently or may be 2.19??? I have the CI connected with longer cable(For SCSI DD); both Viaccess or Astoncrypt 2.18 are OK. Quote
frazer Posted April 18, 2009 Author Posted April 18, 2009 Hello, Thanks for the reply. That is exactly my problem though; that the driver download does not allow you to install the Technotrend software, so I can't, as is usually suggested here, try my CAM with the original software first to see if it is a hardware problem rather than a compatibility problem with DVBViewer. As for the CAM, my Aston CAM is very old, so maybe isn't compatible. Does anyone successfully use a T-Rex CAM in a similar set up? (and it is a T-Rex CAM and not a Dragon as I wrote earlier!) Thanks again, Frazer Quote
