PerryM Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I have Media Center TV Pack running fine including correct viewing of BBC HD (using I believe the 'Fiji' beta H264 codec). For various reasons I added DVBViewer (Pro) edition, and this did not show pictures for BBC HD. I tried adding the trial 'CoreAVC' codec, and this indeed then gave me pictures but they are displaying with the wrong aspect ratio. I suspect the 1440 pixels are not being stretched to 1920 as is required. Can I then ask: 1) Should I need a different H264 codec from the one that works in MCE? 2) If I do, is CoreAVC the best one to use? 3) How do I get the aspect ratio to show correctly? Quote
PerryM Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Well to (probably) answer my own question - I installed FFDShow and that works fine. Quote
Rob100 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 I use PowerDVD 7/8 H264 decoders (different systems) using DXVA with great results and very little CPU useage (due to HA on GPU). On my client PC (in the lounge) I only have an old AMD XP2500 running at stock speed and using an AGP ATI HD2400 and the PowerDVD7 codec (maybe 8 will work on this set-up, but if it ain't broke....). Playback is flawless. CoreAVC works fine on my AMD 5500e system, but CPU is running at up to 80% (rather than ~3% with PowerDVD/DXVA). Quote
