jakeh Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 OSD Teletext (which is by the way great) has one issue. The page selection fails when reading the teletext pages to the memory is still in under way. If you wait the page to come it will not be selected and you have to make the page selection again. So this issue is quite annoying after channel change when you have to wait a while before making a page selection in OSD Teletext to get page reliably by one selection. I'm using DVBViewer 4.0. This has been an issue also in previous versions. Quote
Griga Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Confirmed. Also in the current beta it doesn't work like it should. Quote
Lars_MQ Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Noted, but doesn't seem like a bug, I'll take a look at it after the next release. Quote
jakeh Posted August 24, 2009 Author Posted August 24, 2009 Hi Lars, Have you got time to look this issue. In the 4.2.1 version OSD Teletext improvement: always 4:3 improved usability a lot. When using large 16:9 screen it is now much easier for eyes to focus to whole page This page selection issue is still bothering me so I have high hopes that this could be fixed soon. After the improvement usability would be superb. This feature is de-facto among teletext solutions. Here in Finland Teletext is still widely used and specially among sports fans Quote
jakeh Posted January 14, 2010 Author Posted January 14, 2010 Hello, Finland calling I have not tested beta versions but do you have this bug / enhancement in DVBViewer roadmap? Could someone among developers give some information about progress of looking this issue, please. You are doing great work! Everyday fan of DVBViewer Quote
jakeh Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 Hello, I can confirm this is still an issue in 4.5 version. Sorry that I am repeating myself. This page selection issue is still bothering me. Page should be selected by entering page number only once in every case. Could you fix this, please. Quote
jakeh Posted October 24, 2010 Author Posted October 24, 2010 One addition to previous message. I would like to inform cosmetic bug regarding new teletext engine in 4.5 version. On the left side of the OSD Teletext window there is unnecessary black vertical line/border which was not present in previous implementation. Quote
Griga Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 On the left side of the OSD Teletext window there is unnecessary black vertical line/border which was not present in previous implementation. We had to make it fully visible due to user complaints. Usually the leftmost of the 40 teletext columns is used for a (spacing) control code that sets the line color. However, on few teletext pages the text begins in the first column with default line colors (white on black), thus being cut off in previous DVBViewer versions. Quote

Thanks for the information and clarification. Good that now there is no possibility for cut off. Maybe one black column could be added also to the right side also to keep balance in visual experience? Now visual implementation looks a little bit unfinished. Quote
jakeh Posted January 17, 2011 Author Posted January 17, 2011 Hello, This is still an issue in 4.6 and maybe forgotten. Suggestion: Would it be possible to add to teletext engine a checkup functionality which would be executed when all the pages have been read to memory after channel change. The functionality would simply check if the page has been selected and if so then switch to the page. How about Griga, is it feasible? Quote
Griga Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 It works in the teletext window, as you can see. Is it caused by the teletext handling in the DVBViewer Pro OSD, not by the underlying teletext engine. So it must be fixed in the OSD. And yes, I think it has been forgotten. I'll add it to the internal bug reports. Quote
