Cyberlink Remote

I was wondering if anyone has managed to get this remote working perfectly in DVBViewer.

http://sites.google.com/site/lcwmax/projec...for-mediaportal

I have tried the plugin on the link above and it gives functions to all keys in DVBViewer (if you have the plugin running), however there is a small but iritating problem in that the red button (top left) always wants to open PowerDVD, so it cocks up when in OSD menu and choosing the red button.

It would also be nice if the home button could also be used to open DVBViewer, but it currently wants to open media portal (which I don't wish to use).

I didn't know if these files could be easily edited to make the remote work perfectly in DVBViewer (would be nice for £5.99).

Excuse my ignorance, but I have no experience in .dll .exe or .xml files

I can't understand why the remote when pressing the red button tries to do 2 things (1 what you map it to in DVBViewer and the other :) Opens PowerDVD).

However if anyone has the remote but still limited functionality (as there seem to be a alot of these sold recently), try the above link to gain more functionality.

If anyone can do this as a plugin for DVBViewer it would be greatly appreciated!

(Many thanks to Gioxy for pointing me in the right direction regarding the above plugin)

I use this remote with DVBViewer, using Intelliremote:

I have just set it up to produce keypresses, and then edited DVBViewer to respond to these. I don't run PowerDVD, so am not sure about that problem. However, Intelliremote does allow you to setup different profiles for each program that you use, and automatically switches profiles when you launch a new program.

Thank you for the quick response

I was hoping to not spend anything on it so after googling thought I would try Eventghost, but if I don't get much joy I guess I will have to buy Intelliremote.

Anyone else had any experience with this remote or Eventghost?

I couldn't get Eventghost nor HID to work with this remote when I was trying back in November.

Be happy :): with the plugin JonBunt mentioned above HID do work for the majority of the buttons, but (and that's the post point...) some important button don't behave as aspected...

Meant to say 'HIP' not HID. HIP is another freebie remote program.

With Intelliremote you should be able to get the home and red buttons to do whatever you want. I have attached my Intelliremote profile file for DVBViewer in case you want to use it as a starting point.

I use this same remote with Intelliremote too and it works perfectly.

It isn't that much money and the software is excellent!

Overally it probably still comes out much cheaper than buying a better remote!
