byngo Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Hi, I have my PC connected to my Monitor via VGA and to my LCD tv in the adjacent room via HDMI. (Mostly for watching HD transmissions & Bluray Disks) I have to have DVBViewer running to record, but often I might decide to watch some of what i am recording. When I watch Using DVBViewer I would usually use my keyboard shortcut or Hauppage remote control to switch displays (Single Monitor modes) but I cannot switch displays if the program is running, even if it is minimised. Why is that? I guess for those circumstances I could use the Nvidia Control panel to use a Dual view mode and drag the DVBViewer window over to my other display. Would that work? I know I can't use clone mode because my displays have very different resolutions + the TV is 16:9 and the PC Monitor is 4:3. Another complication is that Dualview mode does not appear as an option in the Nvidia Control panel unless both displays were "On" at the time the PC boots. Quote
robbo1 Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 I had this problem. Basically, you can't change screens whilst you are watching video. This isn't a problem of DVBViewer, it happens for any video playing application from my expeiance (with NVIDIA). Sadly I do not think you will find a solution. Robbo1 Quote
cobson Posted May 15, 2009 Posted May 15, 2009 Can you use the Recording Service for your recordings and just fire up DVBViewer when you want to view it ? Quote
byngo Posted May 15, 2009 Author Posted May 15, 2009 Can you use the Recording Service for your recordings and just fire up DVBViewer when you want to view it ? Thanks for the replys. I've thought about the recording service, but Im sure it needs DVBViewer to be running to record. Am i wrong, and do I set it up? Quote

cobson Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 (edited) Sorry byngo, I think you got the blame for my bad post there. The recording service doesn't need DVBViewer to be running. If it is recording something you can run DVBViewer and view the channel being recorded. Edited May 20, 2009 by cobson Quote
