Bjur Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 I often have DVBViewer freezing. I don't know what's causing it. I'm currently running DVB 4.0 and I know the 4.1.1 is out, but I want to get it fixed so I have decided to do a clean install, but I need help. 1. I've currently installed recording service seperately which is working good. I can see there's an recording service section in 4.1.1. Does it mean that it's now integrated so I should uninstall my current recording service also? 2. I have FFDshow to brush up picture, but if I update, is there any reason to install post processing plugin, if I just choose FFDshow as encoder? 3. Where is the event log located, so I perhaps can see what causes the currently freezes? I think it's either FFDshow or encrypted channels, thats causing it. Thanks for the help again. Quote
Devastation Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 but I want to get it fixed so I have decided to do a clean install maybe with 4.1.1.1 its fixed. Try it. If not post support.zip (also see 3.) 1.It's now much better integrated in DVBViewer, so you should install new RecService 1.5.0.2 RC2 and DVBViewer 4.1.1.1. But be sure to make datasave before. Best would be to copy the installfolder of DVBV and the configuration folder. And save your 4.0 installation file. Make sure when you download the new DVBV that you use exactly same Logindata (upper/lowercase) for download and install. 2. is ....reason to install post processing plugin, if I just choose FFDshow as encoder? Only ffdShow as encoder is ok for this. 3. Where is the event log located, so I perhaps can see what causes the currently freezes You can use the support.zip Tool. Then you got all the needed files together. Quote

If I understand you correctly regarding the recservice, then I should still install it afterwards eventhough it's integrated in DVBV or does the integrated work alone, so I only need to install DVBV 4.1.1 and uninstall my current recservice version? Backup is no problem. I have Acronis backup. Thanks for the help. Quote
Devastation Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 If I understand you correctly regarding the recservice, then I should still install it afterwards eventhough it's integrated in DVBV Sorry if I wrote not exact. RecService is not integratet in the DVBV-Setup. You must download and install it extra. What I meant was that the RecService does now much better harmonize with the DVBV (running same time, exchanging epg data and recordings etc.) Quote
