UndeadDevil Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) Yes I read the Bug Report Instructions, surely the support file is not needed in this case? If it is please let me know which machine I should run the tool on and i'll upload it I use DVBServer 4.1.1.0 from my 32-bit Windows 2003 server to DVBViewer via Unicast. About 30 mins ago I tuned into a channel with high amounts of interfearence and told DVBViewer to record. It eventually crashed (I'll assume the Codec fell-over due to all the errors). Now ever time I fire up DVBViewer it tunes into the same channel and *APPARENTLY* starts recording! I can not tune out no matter what I DO! DVBViewer insists its Recording but at the same time insists its not!!!!!!!!!! I can not stop this recording! I rebooted both machines, yet DVBViewer still tunes to the same channel and tells me its recording? (Its really not!) So I tried to tune to another channel again, at this point both DVBServer and DVBViewer locked up! (And of course, I now have to reboot the server once again, why do TV Tuners not work at all after DVBViewer crashes?) What the hell is going on? Why is it insiting its recording something when it is not?! Why am I stuck on this channel?!!! (Well transponder as I can watch the channels next to it) Please HELP!!! (Seriously, how the hell can it be recording something when both machines have been rebooted) I must stress that I understand I'm asking alot from DVBViewer to handle insanely corrupted channels, but I must gather these Trasnport Streams as EVIDENCE to get this interfearence sorted out! (Its a neighbours BT HomeHub!!!!! - Fat chance I have of ever watching these channels without moving) - I've got the TS I need, now I want to return to watching TV! And FYI, I can not use DVBViewer directly due to my TV Tuner being incompatable with 64-bit Operating Systems (Except Linux, but the tuner doesn't work on newer kernals at all) Edited June 21, 2009 by UndeadDevil Quote
dvbrewer Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Have you tried a reinstall? What channels are being affected? By the way if you want the main DVBViewer admins to help out you really need to post the support.zip. Quote
Benarty Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Interference? That means you have a wifi setup? Sure: You may expect problems due to louzy bandwidth distroying the stream leading to huge artifacts at least or sudden black screen. For first: You sure need to post support.zip in this case. Quote
Devastation Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 DVBViewer it tunes into the same channel and *APPARENTLY* starts recording! For this try DVBV Main Menu --> DVBViewer --> Timer and there delete the recording timers. Quote
Kat-CeDe Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) Hi, go to "documents and settings" (or something similar), then "all user" or your login name, search for the folder CMUV\DVBViewer and edit the file setup.xml with an editor. In the editor search for a line like "<entry name="LastSender">1179021036|EinsFestival HD (AC3)</entry>" and delete that line. DVBViewer should start now with no channel tuned in. I do not know what to do with the recording task but there must be a similar solution. Ralf Edited June 21, 2009 by Kat-CeDe Quote
UndeadDevil Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 Thank you Kat-CeDe, it worked. Just need to reboot the server now (Getting "No Hardware Available" for channels). So hopefully in a second shoul be able to watch tv in a second. The interfearence is on 11642 V only! It is the BT HomeHub my neighbour has and I have absolutly no chance of them politly throwing the piece of c**p out (The BT HomeHub is well known for interfearing with only this frequency, its to do with its built-in DECT) - So I need to submit evidence to my landlord to get them to force this individual to get a alternative router (I can't be the only one this is affecting) Quote
UndeadDevil Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) Okay, it still thinks its recording and I haven't started the server since the reboot, but went into DVBViewer settings on this machine and when I clicked on Ok I got a message box saying "Recorder/Timeshift is active!" (I was in the Hardware Tab if that makes any difference. Is this anything to worry about? I'm about to start the server again now. Edit: All works fine, thank you again Kat-CeDe. Interference? That means you have a wifi setup? Sure: You may expect problems due to louzy bandwidth distroying the stream leading to huge artifacts at least or sudden black screen. For first: You sure need to post support.zip in this case. No, I hate WiFi. It is extreamly in-secure and even WPA is now crackable within a timly manner in most cases (Usually human stupidity - monkey is not a secure WPA key) I have SNMP bandwidth monitoring on my whole LAN, 3Mbps really isn't going to have any issues, nor is 17Mbps (BBC HD) I am sure its interfearence as many people in the UK have this interfearence on this frequency thanks to BT. The interfearence is constant, DECT phones generally only interfear during a call, however others report the BT HomeHub's DECT is constantly transmitting. I pick up a BT HomeHub on WiFi so this seems the likely cause, correct? The Support.zip was not needed in this case, problem was solved quickly without it. Edited June 21, 2009 by UndeadDevil Quote
UndeadDevil Posted June 21, 2009 Author Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) So basically now I'm intersted to know if the devolopers plan to improve how DVBViewer copes with codecs crashing. (Its deffo the Codecs as Media Player Classic can crash when playing back Recorded TS Files assuming I pause once I start recording so DVBViewer does not crash.)
