majstang Posted July 22, 2009 Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) Hello! I always use two DVBViewer instances simultainously. Because of this i often mute the instance i do not choose to watch at the moment. With version 4.0 if both windows where muted it was impossible to get rid of that low level sound coming from the muted windows. Now with v.4.1.1.1 it says in the fixed list: Add: Tweaks: MinVolume in case you can hear something even if muted, lower this value. For me this only applies when running one instance of DVBViewer. Then it is completly silent when muting volume. Running both the low level noice is back when muted. It is possible to hear voices and there is a scraping noice. Could this be fixed? Would be nice cuz its quite annoying. My instances is charing the same renderers and codecs. Regards Majstang Edited July 22, 2009 by majstang Quote
majstang Posted July 22, 2009 Author Posted July 22, 2009 (edited) Some additional info. The noice only appears when using the audiorenderer outputting HDMI audio "Default Direct Sound Audiorenderer". The moment I close one of the two muted instances the noice disappears. This noice was there even when i used to use Realteks HDMI-sound-driver. I use ATI HDMI sounddriver now. Very strange... I dont know if it is the driver causing this or if DVBViewer plays the mainpart here. Maybe somebody could enlighten me... Edited July 22, 2009 by majstang Quote
majstang Posted July 28, 2009 Author Posted July 28, 2009 (edited) Removed the ATI HDMI audio driver and installed Realteks HDMI driver instead. Result on outputting both DVBViewerinstances with audio through HDMI gives the noice is present all the time when both instances is muted. Closing one instance and the noice do not go away like it did with the ATI HDMI driver. Uninstalled Realtek and installed ATI HDMI again and it is back to square one. Please do some testing in your testbench, im sure you could reproduce this issue easy. This is annoying, annoying and more annoying. Please fix it. majstang Edited July 28, 2009 by majstang Quote
majstang Posted August 2, 2009 Author Posted August 2, 2009 (edited) Installed DVBViewer v.4.2.1 and this issue persists. When only using one instance its completly silent when muted. Using two instances simultaniously there is still noice coming through when muted...changing to a channel without sound on one instance and the noice disappears. It seems the fix you guys did for this issue only applies to single window use of DVBViewer. You can reproduce the issue with an ATI Radeon graphics card. ATI HDMI driver. Use "ATI HD Audio rear output" as windows audiorenderer and "Default DirectSound" audiorenderer for both DVBViewerinstances. This must be DVBViewer related...if not do you have any suggestions on cause or how to fix it? Edited August 2, 2009 by majstang Quote
