Doesn't find servers using autodiscovery?

Hi,

I followed the guide Recording Service and DVBViewer, but DVBViewer doesn't find any servers... ;) (see picture)

What could I be doing wrong?

EDIT:

BTW, all I want is to record using the recording service, no streaming and the like. DVBViewer will not be running... so maybe I have misunderstood the necessity of the guide?

How do I set it up to get the set recordings from DVBViewer, if possible? (or should I just use the WebInterface?)

You can't discover, if the service configuration programm is active (the service is stopped then) and it seems you are using DVBViewer and service on the same PC so you NEED the streaming. The DVBViewer must be a slave of the service otherwise it is not possible to record in the background. The hardware device must be controlled by the service, there is no "sharing" of a device between defferent applications.

Sorry, forgot to clarify. The service configuration is closed, when I try to autodiscover. It was just to show my configuration...

So if DVBViewer is never running when I'm recording, I don't need it?

Thanks!

If you only want to record with the service and program the recordings via the service webinterface, you don't need the DVBViewer on the server (well it must be installed but not configured).

I have the same problem! The DVBServer is not started, cuz if it was i would autodiscover the server without any problem. I have runned the old DVBServer without any problem before. Ports and adress is the same in client unicast and recording service config. The recording service is started before trying autodiscovery from client (rec service configuration is closed). I have followed every step in wiki up to the Autodiscovery point and it does not work for me. Have Windows XP.

How can i confirm that the DVBServer is started?

Is the server integrated in DVBVservice.exe....i cant find it anywhere (Device Manager or Windows Local Service).

Well, DVBVservice.exe is there alright but no sign of the server.

Ok, after uninstall of rec. service and reinstalled it im abled to at least get the server streaming as it should, but it still doesnt autodiscover serverlist. Strangest thing :) With old DVBServer Pro this is no problem at all. Not important though when rec. service works as it should anyway.
