uglyned Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 I've just moved house and my new house has no internet connection. My internal router doesn't like no internet connection and won't handle the internal network properly without one. In short, I have no network. So when my HTPC, which has the recording service and DVBViewer installed, starts up, it reports no network connection. In this state, the Unicast configuration between Recording service and DVBViewer doesn't seem to work, even though they're on the same PC. I tried using the internal interface but it still didn't work. The DVBViewer Unicast client just can't discover the recording service Unicast server, no matter what I tried. Is this a bug? Quote
Devastation Posted August 13, 2009 Posted August 13, 2009 (edited) Search all configuration pages with a network address and change it everywher to 127.0.0.1. see the Recording Service Installation Guide the chapters Web/UPnP, DVBServer, Create Unicast Devices, DVBViewer Recording Service Settings Does it help? Edit: also see chapter Networkable Recordingfolders. If you set such folder change them to normal folders. Edited August 13, 2009 by Devastation Quote
uglyned Posted August 14, 2009 Author Posted August 14, 2009 Yep, changed everything to 127.0.0.1. DVBViewer could connect to the recording service OK, the test passed in options and I could see EPG / timer list / recordings in DVBViewer. It just couldn't find the Unicast server in hardware options. In the end I went and got a spare wireless bridge, turned it on (although it wasn't connected to any network) and plugged the PC in. Immediately DVBViewer could then see the Unicast server. Is it just me? Has anyone else tried unplugging their network cable? Does the Unicast connection still work? (Obviously don't try it if recording service and DVBViewer are on different PCs, I don't think that would count as a bug). Quote
Devastation Posted August 14, 2009 Posted August 14, 2009 Never tried. Will do so next days. Unicast = Unicast Network Device maybe it needs a network. Quote
