Hi,

I'm missing EPG info for some channels... The info is present in the DVBViewer EPG, and it has worked in the Recording Service EPG.

What's wrong?

is in DVBViewer and in RecordingService?

So what exactly for EPG info is missing? Where is it missing?

and please support.zip: http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=2210

Maybe you haven't tuned missing channels for a while? EPG is for 4-7 days sended max.

It's working in DVBViewer not Recording Service.

Why do I need to tune the channel for the EPG to work??? ;)

Not for the EPG to work, but for the EPG to being received.

If it s working in DVBV but not in Recordingservice you have some settings done wrong.

Therefore would be the support.zip to check this.

So please read here: Recording Service Installation Guide

I don't think the EPG info comes from the TV signal. Only current and next program info is sent with the DVB-C signal.

It did work before and I haven't changed any settings...

First off all: you have not read the Recording Service Installation Guide I linked for you above.

All your settings for this are wrong!

Dont use one hardware in Recordingservice and in DVBViewer!

So read it and configure your Service and DVBViewer like explained in the guide.

I don't think the EPG info comes from the TV signal

There are only following possibilities for purchasing EPG infos:

 1. incoming with the channel signals over DVB-S -C -T
 2. - incoming over DVB-S -C over a specific Transponer (e.g. MediaHighway)
 3. - over Internet. For this a plugin (like TVinfo-plugin) is needed

Edit: TVInfo is no EPG plugin. There I was wrong. For EPG there are 3 Tools Xmltv, EPGImporter and Xepg (Auto Import XMLTV) and only Xepg is up to date.

Have you installed such a plugin?

If you have EPG now/next there should be sended more than that.

There is an option-page for EPG Data in RecordingService: http://en.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Options_Service_-_EPG

Make sure all is adjusted correct to receive EPG Data automaticly (its not correct setted now)

I repeat: Read the guide and configure your Service and DVBViewer like explained in the guide!

Ok, I missed the DVBViewer setup. I've now set it up according to the guide (I'm not exactly sure, what it does though), but it's still not working...

I haven't changed the hardware setup as I'm not using DVBViewer to watch TV. I'm only using the Recording Service to record TV, so that shouldn't be a problem...

As I get a full EPG in DVBViewer, it shouldn't be necassary to install any plugin, right? (see below image)

DVBViewer EPG

It's just the Recording Service EPG that's empty:

Recording Service EPG

I've attached my new support.zip.

Thanks!

So, have you?

What about this?

Maybe. But to avoid problems you should do as described in the guide.

It's just the Recording Service EPG that's empty

How should the service get it?

You have not set the http://en.DVBViewer.tv/wiki/Options_Servic...G#EPG_UpdateEPG Update.

0

Thats another point that differs from my settings:

1

but I dont know whats this for and where to set it. Maybe somewhere knows and help me out.

Hi,

Just updated to newest version of recservice and I have the same problem.

Since I use Swedish Comhem network where epg only shows a few program ahead, I use XMLTVSwe instead to create a xml file. The file is then imported to DVBViewer using MYXmltv.

After that i get 2weeks epg in DVBViewer but NOT in recording service. In recording service i only get a few programs ahead like it was reading the epg from the dvb stream (and not looked in epg.dat)

NOTE that this worked in older version of Recording Service.

Any advices?

thanks

Hi again,

I tried Xepg as suggested but unfortunately no change in my problem.

Still I have 2weeks EPG in DVBViewer but only a few entries in Recording Service EPG...

any other suggestions?

It should be possible to import xmltv EPG via Xepg into the Recording Service.

Try delete the epg.dat in the (Configuration folder) an in Configuration folder\Config (close DVBViewer and Recording Service before it).

And than try Xepg again

thanks again!

I did again as you suggested, still no luck :(

Tried the following:

- clean install of XP

- clean install of DVBViewer

- clean install of Recording Service

- no epg in dvb-dir or config-dir

1. ran xmlTVswe and created a xml file

2. ran Xepg and mapped channels + imported

i get:

1. 2 weeks epg if i run DVBViewer and look at EPG there

2. a few programs ahead in Recording service. (as many as my provider, Comhem, sends out)

hoping for more help!

Hi again,

finally I got it to work!

appearantly there was some strange with password in Xepg to log in to recording service. I changed pw both in Rec Service and in Xepg and then i got the full epg in rec service!

thanks for being so persistent and insisting that I should try this solution!!
