pjred Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 Hi, I live in Australia. I tried your latest GE 2.8.0 version. I noticed the PIP Preview option was greyed out. Also the channel scan only found DTV channels in the lower frequncy range. I had to copy the channel.dat from the scan in the pro version to get the other channels. Regards, Paul Quote
Griga Posted August 19, 2009 Posted August 19, 2009 I noticed the PIP Preview option was greyed out. Where? There are several possibilities to start PiP: - In the Channel Menu resp. Tool Bar. The menu item resp. tool button is greyed out if there are no channels in the favourites list, because the PiP Channel Selection Menu is limited to favourites. - In the Channel List (tool button at the bottom or context menu). It is greyed out if the selected channel is no TV channel or if no device is available for displaying it as PiP. - In the Favourites List (tool button at the bottom or context menu). Also the channel scan only found DTV channels in the lower frequncy range. I had to copy the channel.dat from the scan in the pro version to get the other channels. Which transponder list has been used in the Pro version for scanning? You may need to copy it to the GE configuration folder\Transponders subdirectory. DVBViewer GE doesn't provide a special transponder list for Australia. Quote
pjred Posted August 20, 2009 Author Posted August 20, 2009 Hi, Copying over the Australian transponder list did the trick, all channels came up in the scan. The greyed out Preview was because I had no channels in the favourites list. Thanks, user ignorance. One issue I have with both the Ge and Pro is when using preview. One channel will be displayed Ok and the other one will just flick on and off (picture for a sec then black window for a sec). Every now and then it will work but then if you try to swap preview with main window then either one or the other will flick. If you then close the preview window then the main window will lock on and stop flicking and display OK. Tried using different video/audio combinations for both windows, but doesn't seem to make any difference. Using different video renderers seems to have an effect but then you might just get a frozen picture in one window. I'm running Win 7 and normally use the EVR renderer. Watching one program and recording another or recording 2 at once all seems OK. Paul Quote
