Hi,

I am interesting in goning with dvbvieweron top of my terratec 2400i DT card, but before getting it, I would like to make sure it works. As recommended, I picked transedit.

With Transedit, I use ffdshow for video and audio. the release I am using is ffdshow_rev3078_20090917.

it works fine except for channels with eac3 sound. In thsese case, the preview feature gives me video but no sound. I am disappointed because I read a lot of topics telling that it works fine but as I can't test it with transeidt, how can I be sure It ll work when I will have have the full version ?

so here are my questions :

1 - IS there difference between transedit and DVBViewer, in other word, can it work with dbviewer when it is not with transedit.

2 - Did you guys had specific setup for your ffdshow ?

3 - for information, I tried different audio decoders : mpc - mpa decoder and cyberlink pDVD9 and still no sound.

regards,

As recommended, I picked transedit.

Which version? The free one from here, I suppose. Maybe it doesn't provide EAC3 support yet. Dunno... I didn't create that version (in contrast to the TransEdit full version in the members area).

But I can confirm that DVBViewer Pro 4.2.1 is able to play a TS sample file with EAC3 audio (recorded from DVB-T in France, if I remember it correctly) after selecting ffdshow (tryouts revision 2322 Nov. 13 2008) as AC3 audio decoder. So live broadcasts should work as well.

Did you guys had specific setup for your ffdshow ?

E-AC3 decoding must be enabled in the ffdshow audiodecoder configuration (see Windows start menu) -> codecs section.

Well, I've uploaded several TransEdit test versions (in other threads) as forum attachment. But Preview playback of those versions won't work without a DVBViewer installation, thus being of no avail for you.

So there are two possibilites: Rely on that it will work with DVBViewer and purchase it (I'm pretty sure it will), or search for some other software that is able to do what you want. Sorry, no better news...
