bogger Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 I'm using a dvb-s card and picking up the freesat channels. However I'm only getting two or so hours worth of epg data instead of a full week. Any ideas on what I've done wrong? Is it possible (and easy) to import digiguide data into the epg and use that? I already am able to capture it in xml format. many thanks in advance. Quote
Lars_MQ Posted October 30, 2009 Posted October 30, 2009 http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?...&hl=freesat you could have used the search funktion yourself, you know... Quote
bogger Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 thanks. Its just that there are so many settings to get a handle on and If I get directed to the most relevant post I can take it from there. Quote
bogger Posted October 30, 2009 Author Posted October 30, 2009 All U want to do is to be able to record stuff via an epg. I've been pointed to links that assume some knowledge of where to start but I can even seem to find the options/epg menu option. Theres talk about webservices and other stuff. I'm getting too confused. Is this program just for experts. I'm stuck. Please can I have a step by step guide on how to load a full epg worth of data for the freesat channels and then set recordings into the future. All forum postings I come across are written by experts for people experienced with DVBViewer already. I would have thought a working epg would have been the first step but is not easy to get up and going. I have my channels tuned in. now what do I do? Step by step please. Quote
Cian Posted November 1, 2009 Posted November 1, 2009 Hi, At the moment you are just getting Now & Next. What you are missing are the freesat tables: freesat.t1 and freesat.t2 This is from another post: FreeSAT EPG is handled like MHW EPG. So you have to activate it in the options and put the correct frequency (11428 h) into the options list.Additionally you need the "Complete Tables" file from http://www.rst38.org.uk/vdr/ . The files freesat.t1 and freesat.t2 must be extracted into the DVBViewer program folder. Once you do that, you should be able to see the 7-day EPG. (I had to re-install recently and it took me ages to remember this!! A FreeSat UK entry in the Wiki might not go astray.) Quote
Cian Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 (edited) In addition to the above!! When you go to the rst38 site, you need to download the link marked "Complete Tables" To get ITV-HD, you will need to do the following: Download the file in THIS post: Go to the Channel editor. Right-click on the left-hand panel and select "Import". I needed to tweak this afterwards to get the EPG to work - I'll try and find the tweak! Edited November 2, 2009 by Cian Quote
uglyned Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 (edited) Step by step it is pretty easy. I can't do it at the moment but hopefully tonight I'll post something in the English Wiki with some screenshots, if there isn't anything there already. Updated this post as a quick fix.
