Hi, as you know, the taks of organizing channels into a favorite list (orlists) is Herculean and time consuming. Once you have done it on one pc, I hope, it can be replicated on another. How do you copy the favourite list from one pc to another? is there an export/import (of favorites list, I have seen the channel import/export) maybe they are in a file I can just copy?

Thanks for your help

Hi. I believe the Favourites are usually stored in your OS user folder as 'favourites.xml' (there's a 'favourites.bak' in there too).

For XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\maf\Application Data\CMUV\DVBViewer

For Vista/7:

C:\Users\username\Application Data\CMUV\DVBViewer

(You can just use the %appdata% Run command also to get to this directory. The Application Data\CMUV\DVBViewer will be in the All Users directory if you installed the program for All Users.)

If I'm wrong about this, I'm sure a more experienced DVBViewer user will correct me

I'll try it when I get home. By heart I fear that application data folder is not accessible anymore on Win7, I hope I am wrong

Thanks anyway

Rember to close DVBViewer before you copy the file, otherwise the file will be overwritten when DVBViewer closes. You can do the same thing with channels.dat. This files contains channel informations. Wery usefull if you use Recording Service as a TV server with clients without TV tuners, streaming from the TV server

In Windows 7, the favorites.xml file is positioned here:

C:\ProgramData\CMUV\DVBViewer

Simply copy and save it (on an USB or where ever elsewhere), and insert it into the new pc at the same location.

Works like magic!

Great program!!!

- but there ought to be a more obvious option for this, (in addition to the channel import/export function) or perhaps I just haven't found it yet)

;-)

Good luck!
