AC3 advice

Now that I have got (due to invaluable advice here) Euro1080 working, my next stage is to get AC3 or Dolby Digital working.

 

I have an Nforce 2 motherboard with an SPDIF optical output which is connected to my Yamaha AMP which is AC3 compatible. I know my connection is working because the AMP automatically switches to DOLBY DGTL when I view a DVD.

 

In DVBViewer I am using the DVBViewer filter and source filters both set to auto.

 

Which sound codec should I have in order to get AC3 sound enabled? If there is a certain one I should use, please also tell me where to get/purchase/download it from.

 

Do the channels that have ac3 by their name always broadcast in AC3 as well.
