richB Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 For large bandwith 4:2:2 HD feeds (40-45 mb/sec) I get every 20sec lags and sometimes pixellisation. On the other hand, it is impossible to record and watch the feed in the same time because lags are much more visible.... Strangely, no problem at all with mepg2 4:2:0 feeds wich I suspect less "big" in term of bandwith. Hence I's like to use the dxva feature of my graphic car, I'm already using it with H264 HD feeds or channels and I get a very smmoth channel such as SD channel or feed. I've tried Elecard mpeg2 HD codec which have the dxva feature but the result is worst by far than Dscaler codec. Thanks for your help. Quote
Derrick Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 IMHO you have to beef up your pc. I only know feeds with 4:2:2 HD in mpeg2. No problems here with Mainconcept. Alas no dxva in this mode Quote
richB Posted December 11, 2009 Author Posted December 11, 2009 Have you tried last following feeds UEFA champions league feed (TF1 HD) on 12°West usually on wednesday ? All mpeg2 HD feeds are not 4:2:2, most often in 4:2:0 and I'm having troubles only with the 4:2:2 ones..... If the codec is good and use graphic card acceleration mode (dxva) like cyberlink or coreavc for H264, no need at all to boost-up PC hardware. Quote

Not all mpeg2 HD feeds are 4:2:2, but 4:2:2 HD feeds (with bit rates > 40mbps) are in mpeg2 and not H.264 There are only few decoders that are capable of 4:2:2 but afaik none with dxva when working in this mode. richB Posted December 11, 2009 Author Posted December 11, 2009 Hi Derrick, Does ffdshow codec support dxva ? I was told yes somewhere else but what's your opininion ? Quote
Griga Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Does ffdshow codec support dxva ? AFAIK it doesn't. The pivotal question is: Does DXVA support 4:2:2 mode? Maybe not... Quote

Theres often a problem with cards and bitrates greater than 45 Mbs. Edited December 11, 2009 by jakob2 Quote
