Restart recording after connectuion break

Hi everyone,

I bought DVBViewer a few days ago to be able to record tv over DSL on my PC with this tutorial : [removed]

But I often end up with only a part of my programmed records. It looks like there are simply jams in the connection and DVBViewer doesn't restart recording after that. I tried to stop the connection manually and it produces the same result.

Is there any way to check connection breaks and restart recording just after them?

Well, not a successfull post.

 

Let's try again: I found on the Service - Recorder Options page that it's got an option which does exactly what I'm searching for: "Restart recording if no data for 60 s".

 

Why isn't this option available in the "user" interface?

 

Is there any simple way to add it to my recordings? Scripting?

I'm meant it's in DVBViewer Service options, not in DVBViewer "app" options. Or maybe I can't find it ?

DVBViewer Service

There is no DVBViewer Service. There are the Recording Servicve, DVBViewer Pro and DVBViewer GE.

 

And only the Recording Servicve hast this function.

I finally managed to configure the Recording Service but it seems it's not working with crypted channels [removed]. I scheduled some recordings to check the reconnect option, though it's a bit overkill only to be able reconnect a flux... I will repost to tell you if it works.

 

And how can I watch tv live or while recording with this config? Since I disabled hardware in DVBViewer pro, I can't access channels.

 

PS : Where can I find a quick description of the bunch of plugins/mods available in the member area? Information link, when available, often point on release topic without any clue of what it's made for.

Do not ask for or discuss plugins for descrambling/decrypting pay-tv or key-codes.

Although the DVBViewer Pro provides full pay-tv functionality it must only be used in combination with a valid subscription of a pay-tv provider, a tv-card/box featuring a "conditional access module" (CAM) and/or the corresponding "common interface" (CI) with a smart-card. This applies regardless whether software-descrambling is allowed in your country or not.

Oops! Sorry I didn't realize this was out of the rules...

Well, reconnexion seems to work fine for uncrypted channels. So how can I watch stream while recording? Or simply watch tv live without modifying the config each time?

 

PS: can I add a request for the insertion of this feature in DVBViewer Pro too? Ideally with a customizable reconnection delay?

You have to configure the DVBViewer on the Recording Service PC as if it were remote, ie it has to use "virtual devices"... is all clearly explained in this Wiki section: Recording Service Installation Guide - Setting DVBViewer...

My bad. I read the manual too quickly and thought that was for really remote PC.

 

It works now, thanks.

 

Though it would be so simple to have this wonderful reconnection option directly in DVBViewer Pro...
