SimonP Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 I've just had a Freesat dish installed to get the BBC HD broadcasts but I have an odd problem with it. When I scan using either DVBv or Transedit I see over 100 channels, but most are various BBC and ITV channels plus lots of Sky rubbish. I'm not finding channels like Zone, CBS, Aljazeera, M&M, Movies4Men, True Movies, etc. I tried scanning FTA only and All but it's still the same, they're just not there. I'm completely new to Freesat but I can't imagine how 1 dish pointing at 1 satellite can find some channels and not others. Any ideas? Or perhaps someone could send me a channels.inf (or whatever) which includes all the Freesat FTA channels? The signal is nice and strong and my setup has been running Freeview happily for ages so I don't think it's a config problem. Thanks. (TBS 8920 DVB-S2 card, dish pointing at Astra 19.2, Windows Vista 32 Ultimate, DVBViewer 4.2.1 + Recording Service) Quote

SimonP Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Really? I only had it installed last week and made it clear that it was for Freesat. Which one do I need? (Bristol - South West UK) Quote
Tjod Posted December 15, 2009 Posted December 15, 2009 You need Astra 28.2°E for Freesat. http://www.lyngsat.com/28east.html On Astra 19.2°E you only get BBC World News and Sky News International and Al Jazeera English http://www.lyngsat.com/astra19.html Quote
SimonP Posted December 15, 2009 Author Posted December 15, 2009 Question answered. The installer definitely told me 19.2E but in fact it's pointing to 28.2E and a rescan has found all the channels. Quote
