Luke82 Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 Hello everybody, I am luke. I own a usb DVB-T pen (terratec T) and I've been searching a better software than the terratec one. 1 years ago a friend told me about DVBViewer, since he was using it for his TV card....I liked the software but it used to have very serious problems (random crash after x minutes and recording stops after few seconds), so I decided to stay with Terratec Home Cinema. Now I bought a netbook and Terratec Home Cinema is too heavy for this kind of mini-laptop...but Ive just realized that the best software I saw (DVBViewer) has no "try and buy" option. I would really glad to pay only 15€ for this wonderful program, but I'd like to see if it works good for my pen....is there no way to obtain a "try and buy" version? or even a time limited beta, just to try? Thank you for the assistance, happy holidays to everybody. Quote
Tjod Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 (random crash after x minutes and recording stops after few seconds) Sounds like the behaviour of some pirate copy's. ...is there no way to obtain a "try and buy" version? or even a time limited beta, just to try? No there is no demo version and the beta Versions is only for advanced DVBViewer user. Quote
avoidz Posted December 19, 2009 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Hi Luke82. I've been using DVBViewer for a few years now with an Asus My Cinema-U300 Mini and it works perfectly. I've recommended this app to friends who have various TV cards and USB tuners (desktops and notebooks) and all have been very happy and had no problems. I'm sure it will work out as a great solution for you too. Your friend's installation is likely to be bogus since the program never has those serious problems you describe. So even though there is no trial version to download, I'm certain you won't regret spending the 15€. Edited December 19, 2009 by avoidz Quote
Luke82 Posted December 19, 2009 Author Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Sounds like the behaviour of some pirate copy's. I can't guarantee it was a genuine version (I supposo so, since he was a little angered for that), I have reported what I saw. So, are these problems tipically caused by pirated version or even genuine copies experienced these kind of problem? 15€ for a software is very good price, but I don't want to throw them in the dustbin... Thank you @avoidz Thank you for sharing your experience. Edited December 19, 2009 by Luke82 Quote
