DVBViewer memory use

--Hi all and happy hollidays!

I've been a long time user of DVBViewer but lately I have had the problem of it's memory use going haywire.

I've never had much reason to look at the normal usage, so I can't check if it's really abnormal or not; this is why I'm checking here.

Immediately on startup, DVBViewer uses around 500MB of memory. Once a channel is tuned, it jumps to about 800MB, and can keep going up after that (I've seen it at over 1GB).

I'm running DVBViewer 4.2.1, on Windows 7 Home Premium. As plugins DVBLink was running, but the memory problem exists even when I remove the plugins and run DVBViewer on it's own.

Is this normal? It's slowing down my pc and I've never had that before. Any ideas on what can cause it?

Thanks,

Erik

I browsed through the DVBViewer folder, and found the problem. EPG data was 460MB.... That's not normal is it? :)

I deleted the file and for now all is normal. How could that have happened?

I suppose this can be moved to bug reports now?

No, now it can be moved to never mind. :) Without the deleted (faulty) EPG.dat it's no use to search for anything. Unless you can reproduce it, it is just a glitch.
