settings options in windows 7 32bit

After i moved OS to windows 7 32bit, when i click on settings options and click on any of the options DVBViewer freezes

the video is still running but its not possible to change any settings, i have to kill dvdbviewer.exe process to end the program. I have this problem in DVBViewer 4.2.1.0 and in the latest beta.

 

What could be causing this, shall i just delete the config folder and go through the setup process again, what do i need to do to backup channels do i only need copy channels.dat back over to the config folder?

i deleted the config folder and ran dvdbviewer again, it went through the setup options again. I copied over channels.dat file back to the config folder but i still have the same problem with the menu freezing

managed to find out what the problem was, if i have the on-screen keyboard running in the background this causes DVBViewer to stop responding. in options menu
