Database refresh not working with fileinfo

I cannot get the recordings database refresh to work with EPG data saved as fileinfo records.

I have a load of recordings done with an earlier varsion of the recording service and they all have the EPG info saved as fileinfo.

Later versions of the recording service don't seem to like this fileinfo information, the database rebuild just seems to ignore it.

As a test, If I record a new Item, with both fileinfo and info.txt and move their directory, then a cleanup and refresh works perfectly, but if I do the same thing with only fileinfo, then the entry disappears and cannot be recovered.

Do you use a NTFS formated drive? Only with NFTS drives the fileinfo will work.

To check your files for existing fileinfo you can use this tool. Unzip it somewhere, start it and drag'n'drop the ts recording into the program window. on the left side should be the fileinfo.

Yes I can confirm my drives are NTFS and that the fileinfo is present. If I change the recording service back to an older version 1.5.0.25 (I think), the database refresh works again.

Note DVBViewer 4.2.1.0 also works fine when refreshing from these same files.

Ok, I found the problem and hopefully fixed it. ;)

Very nice and useful tool, thanks!

Hope someday it'll be developed and refined a little more... (integrated in DVBV? ;) )

...for example to browse/scroll a entire folder and automagically create all missed .txt file...

...or to view the info of all file in a folder in a tabular view...

... but in 1 entire month (ehm, me included...) download <<<10.000, then I'm sure it isn't so badly needed ot of here... :(

Hanyhow, many thanks for that...

I'll await the new version.

The Standard database is updating fine now, however, there seems to be a similar problem with the new 'series' list refresh. I have added series information via delprops (the only way I know on XP / Server 2003), however whilst the number of entried increases, the items are missing from the list. I have done a complete database remove and refresh and this still doesn't work properly, however I can confirm that entries are added to the series lists through normal use, just not via the refresh database options.
