Picture in picture whilst playing movie/DVD

At the moment, it seems to be the case that to use Picture in Picture while playing a movie/DVD you must first tune the channel/transponder and select preview before playing the movie/DVD. It would be a nice facility to be able to tune any TV channel or even radio in the PiP window whilst watching a movie/DVD and also have the facility to change to any other TV/radio channel or change between audio on the movie/DVD and the TV/radio channel.

Only TV can be send to the PiP. You can only select the channel for the PiP in the Maindisplay, that are the restrictions. Any change would mean a freaking big rewrite of several key elements. Something which is not gonna happen.

OK, but could you not make it so you can launch a TV channel in a PiP window whilst watching a movie/DVD and be able to switch to its audio? This would be useful to check on news or sport for example.

How? And please a solution, that uses no extra keys on the remote control. and can be used in window and htpc mode. And is easy to understand. oh, and doesn't need a freaking big rewrite

You could just have a setting to tick/untick in Options, that when you attempt to tune a channel while playing a DVD/movie it will launch a PiP window rather than stop the DVD/movie and show the TV channel fullscreen.

And what about that freaking big rewrite? I suppose this would require that rewrite: "You can only select the channel for the PiP in the Maindisplay". Otherwise I like your idea a lot as I think that I am responsible for giving the idea to this "PiP while watching a movie" -feature of DVBViewer

I'm not sure it would really require such a big rewrite, since you can already get PiP while watching a movie/DVD, you just have to tune the PiP before launching the movie/DVD.
