ho0o0o11111 Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 Hello, I am planning to build a HTPC with DVBViewer, to stream the HDTV content from Japan to Hong Kong. (Just normal TV programs, not skyperfect or BS1 etc) It would be very glad if anyone can give me some advices: 1. Is DVBViewer compatible with High definition Broadcasting in Japan? ISDB-T? 2. Which HD TV Tuners are compatible with DVBViewer for Japan broadcasting? (Card or USB. USB preferably as I am planning to use AsRock ION330 which doesn't have PCI/PCI-E shot) 3. Which video/audio codec does DVBViewer to compress the video for internet streaming? H.264? Or just the same with those broadcasting content? Thanks in advance. Vielen Dank.. Quote
Derrick Posted February 25, 2010 Posted February 25, 2010 1. I guess so. The format seems to be a normal transport stream with mpeg_video and aac_sound. 2. this is more complicated.. ISDB-T is slightly different from DVB-T. You'll need a pc_card (BDA) that works according to this standard. 3. DVBViewer does not transcode the stream. You'll need an extra tool like VLC. Quote
ho0o0o11111 Posted February 26, 2010 Author Posted February 26, 2010 Thanks for your reply. Just wanna clarify clearly before purchasing the necessary equipment (PC+Tuner+DVBViewer). (I will just have 1 week's time in Japan's home, therefore have to make sure the case in advance) As regards the high definition tuner, as long as it is BDA device (with BDA driver), basically it can be used with DVBViewer, right? I am thinking of an USB tuner (Buffalo's DT-H10/U7) which can be used with Windows 7's Media center, which should mean its' driver should be BDA compatible. http://buffalo.jp/products/catalog/multime...deji/dt-h10_u7/ One more question, no HDCP issue should be in concern when I do internet streaming, right? Danke schoen and have a nice day. Quote
