sw4y
just change the merit of the h.264 codec Quote Link to comment
buttonsNI.
just change the merit of the h.264 codec what are you talking about .....in the new pdvd10 there is no h.264 decoder present in DVBViewer options...only mpeg2 decoder!! Quote Link to comment
desweil
with tools like the RAD LIGHT FILTER MANAGER you can change the merit of codecs. The codec with the highest merit will be used by a DirectShow Component. The UNIFIED Decoder of Cyberlink is not present in DVBViewer because the defualt merit is set to "do not use". You can change it to an otehr merit and then you see it in DVBViewer. Quote Link to comment
buttonsNI.
ok the one to change is called "CyberLink Video Decoder" Quote Link to comment
ter9999
No need to set merit or register filters manually for PDVD10, after installation, there are the codec options in the lists. Quote Link to comment
SupaChris
I also had to change the MERIT value. After this, the decoder is visible in DVBViewer and works fine. Quote Link to comment
eselrob
On my PC is also no H264, only the MPEG. But I use the latest Release, not the Beta. Quote Link to comment
desweil
in Powerdvd10 there is no dedicated H264 decoder. The "unfiied" decoder(with neither SD or h264 in the name) works for h264 and can be selected in DVBViewer if you change this decoders merit Quote Link to comment
eselrob
Yes, the Merit Change did it, but i didn't have the Options as shown in the pic in thread #1. Quote Link to comment
desweil
press and hold CTRL when you open the properties, then you see more options Quote Link to comment
RenkliArif
Could anyone explain what the difference is between SW, DXVA, and HAM mode in the miscellaneous options? Quote Link to comment
Griga
press and hold CTRL when you open the properties, then you see more options Can you store the settings in the Decimation, Decoder and Display sections of the extended options? Here it doesn't work. After rebuilding the filter graph they are always reset to "Good". Quote Link to comment

Griga
That's bad, because watching H.264 HD on my ol' PC (AMD Athlon 3200+, no DXVA available) requires setting Decimation = Auto or Decoder = Fast. I've tried to find the according (probably missing) registry entry with RegMon, but without success. Quote Link to comment
jf2020
I have the same issue of settings not sticking for the DXVA option. I have a NVidia 8500GT so dxva should be an available option. Any idea how this could be enabled? Quote Link to comment
