Getting the EPG to work in the UK

Dear gurus,

I'm new to this DVBViewer Pro lark and I cannot seem to get the EPG to work.

I've followed all the instructions I can find and searched for posts but haven't been able to find one that explains step by step how to get it to work.

I'd like something automated/ scheduled; i.e., not putting it on Brith shorts for 10 minutes.

I've dounloaded XEPG and XMLTV, I've paired channels and have got it to write XML file successfully, but I can't get it into DVBViewer. Can anybody help or point me in the direction of a post that does please?

Apologies if this is simple, I've just not been able to crack it. If you want any technical information then my other post may help http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?...mp;#entry291887.

I'm using a USB Skystar 2, Window XP Home eddition Service pack 3.

Thanks in advance.

Hi cheenis,

Getting the EPG to work with the Freesat EPG can be a bit of a chore!

Here is a post I did a few months ago. I know that you don't really want to tune into Brit shorts to get the EPG, but it's not so bad really! Also, ITVHD will do the same thing, and you are more likely to tune into that more often. Also, it only takes about 30 seconds to populate the EPG.

As for automating this, you could set DVBViewer to auto tune to ITVHD at 3am in the morning which is the same thing as running an XMLTV batch file. I used XMLTV/radio times combination before and I promise that the getting the info from the satellite is much easier!

Let me know how you get on,

Cian.
