Fulco Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 I have two systems: The Vista system functions perfectly: Watching and recording up to 3 channels (including HD channels) simultaneously results in recordings with no more than 2 errors (in file.txt/log ). HD channels, with CoreAVC (1.6), are absolutely perfect. The new Windows 7 system has serious issues with HD channels (BBD HD; ITV HD, ZDF HD, Das Erste HD, arte HD). MPEG channels are fine. Cyberlink (PDVD9) Video Decoder (Miscellaneous: DXVA; Video Mode: Auto Select): video, especially on ‘moving’ parts is blocky; video stuttering. CoreAVC Decoder: video issues (see PDVD9) and sound stuttering/dropping out. Fullscreen seems even worse. CoreAVC (2.0): DVB Source: Discontinuities Cyberlink: DVB Source: no Discontinuities DVBViewer: 4.3.1.115 beta (I started testing the Windows 7 system, with beta 4.3.1.103) Priority ‘higher than normal’ or ’high’. Custom Renderer; EVR Custom Video renderer OR VMR9 Video Mixing Renderer. ATI Catalyst Control Center: ‘Basic Quality’: ‘Use automatic deinterlacing and ‘Pulldown detection’. A (possible) factor: The ASUS HDAV 1.3 drivers cause a large increase in the system Latency (> 500 us, with spikes > 3000 us every few seconds). This has a visible effect when playing DVB-S2 HD video. Removing the ASUS HDAV 1.3, and using the SoundMax audio instead, gives a far better picture quality. Disabling ‘Dolby Digital Life’ / ‘DTS Interactive’ using PCM (with HDAV 1.3 installed), also gives a lower Latency (< 300 us), and better video quality. The sound-stuttering (with CoreAVC) is still there. PCM output also gives some pop-sounds. (Vista) OS: Vista 32bit; ASUS P5WDG2 WS Professional; Intel Quad-core; 4Gb, ATI Radeon 3xxx; AUS Xonar DX; 3x TT-budget S2-3200 (Windows 7) OS: Windows 7 64bit; ASUS P6T7WS Supercomputer; Intel i7 920; 12 Gb Ram; ATI Radeon 5870 (driver 10.3); Adaptec RAID 5405; ASUS HDAV 1.3; 3x TeVii S470 DVB-S/S2 Quote
desweil Posted April 7, 2010 Posted April 7, 2010 first try the normal Version, don't start with BETAS! Quote
