McenterFreak Posted April 23, 2010 Posted April 23, 2010 The topic describes the problem. Needed to activate al timers one by one!
McenterFreak Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Nothing changed to cause such thing. Then, what could have caused it? The only things i have done: 1. stopped the service on my Win 7 machine, where recording service was running 2. copied the files from the newest beta zip to Program Files\DVBViewer 3. rebooted the machine 4. checked that the service was running, and the rigtht version is displayed in the browser After that, all timers where red in the Timers tab I have solved the problem, by ticking them all green, but it would be nice to know if i did something wrong, or a small porgram error could be the problem?
Devastation Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 (edited) 2. copied the files from the newest beta zip The newest beta isn't a zip. Its a exe. Sure it was the DVBViewer 4.3.1.120 beta? the exe wants to install to Program Files\DVBViewer Beta. Maybe you have corrected the path not exactly? Edited April 24, 2010 by Devastation

Barleyman Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Not sure if this is related, but .101 seems to have killed autosearch timer. I had no recordings since 12.4. which means it was not .105 and I most definitely did not touch the autosearch timer record. I merely added the autosearch timer manually and we're back in business just like that.
patti Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I experienced lost timers after updating to beta .105 I first thought it was because I was experimenting with DVBViewer task scheduler and didn't give much thought to it but now that I see others having similar problems I got it. Creating a new autosearch timer fixed it. patti
McenterFreak Posted April 28, 2010 Author Posted April 28, 2010 I have reported this before, that upgrading to a new beta, made all timers inactive. The response was that only i had this problem. Now it seems to be a problem, not only to me, it would be nice if someone could investigate the problem

Now it seems to be a problem, not only to me, it would be nice if someone could investigate the problem I have seen a similar problem many times before - I am using the latest DVDViewer stable build + build 105 of recording service. When I make some change with the recording service off (such as making a config change, which turns off the Service and then turns it back on), sometimes the recordings will be all in red, as if they were conflicting. To fix this, I open up the configuration for one of the recordings (by clicking on the little "pencil" icon) and then hit save. It will then update all recordings and only those that actually are conflicting will be in red. I'm not sure if this is exactly your problem, but you could give it a try anyway. It is not excatly the same behavior. My problem is that in Timers, all the green buttons become red, and it happend again yesterday. Next time i happens, i will try your "fix". Thanks
McenterFreak Posted May 23, 2010 Author Posted May 23, 2010 (edited) Now it happened again. Yesterday i installed the new Beta of RS on my server. Everthing worked fine. Today i reinstalled one of my client PCs, configured DVBViewer to use the tuners on the RS server, as i always do (it is now a routine job to do this, when my client become unstable). But this afternoon all timers on RS is inactive again:-( After clicking all of the red buttons, so they become green, they are active again, but now they are all conflicting: So clicking on the pencil on one of the timers, and save the timer, everything is now okay Edit: i can see now that the pictures are a bit to much compressed, but i hope it is okay Edited May 23, 2010 by McenterFreak
