mlhillel Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Hi, I'm using DVBViewer for viewing dvb-c (TerraTec pci/dvb-c - YouSee/Denmark) cable tv but haven't been able to get DVBViewer to display dvb subtitles for the Danish channel TV2. It's like DVBViewer recognize the broadcast of the dvb subtitles, since the subtitle menu displays 2 available subtitles: DVB: dan (regular) DVB: dan (hearing impaired) None of the above options works, both in full screen or regular window mode. However if I use the TerraTec Home Cinema the subtitles works perfectly.. Anyone expered a similar issue with missing dvb subtitles? Thanks, Mike Quote
hackbart Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Which DVBViewer version do you use? Did you tested the Beta? Can you please provide additional informations? http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=2210 Christian Quote
mlhillel Posted April 26, 2010 Author Posted April 26, 2010 Hi Christian, I'm using DVBViewer Pro. 4.2.1.0 and no I didn't try the beta version, but I can try to download it from the members section and try to see if this would help. Thanks, Mike Quote
mlhillel Posted April 26, 2010 Author Posted April 26, 2010 I've just downloaded the beta version, installed it and runned DVBViewer, but still no luck in displaying the dvb subtitles. The EPG data works + as mentioned the subtitle menu infroms about to available subtitles in Danish. The subtitles works in TerraTec and also on my Philips DVB-C TV so I guess it should't be a broadcast of a "non stadard" dvb subtitle (but not sure). The cable company is YouSee Denmark (TDC) and I'm running DVBViewer on Win7-HP Quote
Lars_MQ Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Please post some more information: http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=2210 Quote
hackbart Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 You could also try to record the subtitles with Transedit, or if too complicated select TS as output and enable the ability to record subtitles under options. A few MB should be enough to find out what went wrong. Christian PS: Please do not forget to attach the support information! Without this information we even do not know if you enabled the OSD. It is quite annoying to worm all information out by requesting all required informations step by step Quote
mlhillel Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 In further of Previous topic about missing subtitles I'll open a new topic here, where I've included the support file. Christian requested a .ts recording but since it was too large to attach to the forum, I've uploaded 2 files on my server, please use the following link for download: DVBViewer recording Recorded with DVBViewer, when replaying this recording in DVBViewer, the menu shows 2 available subtitles (dan) but do not display the subtitles. However TerraTec Home Cinema also shows these 2 available subtitles and can also display them without problems. TerraTec recording Recorded with TerraTec Home Cinema, when replaying this recording in DVBViewer, the menu doesn't show any available subtitles (?) and will not display the subtitles. However TerraTec Home Cinema shows 2 available subtitles and can also display them without problems. One thing I noticed yesterday during replay, if I go in and out of the OSD menu at the end of the recording, the DVBViewer displays the last subtitle in the recording! Thanks, Mike support.zip Quote
mlhillel Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 Thanks Lars & Christian, I've opened a new topic at Bug Reports: Link to topic 40381 and included the support file as requested + uploaded some .ts recordings on my server, available via provied link in the new topic. Thanks, Mike Quote
Lars_MQ Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 set the video decoder to cyberlink in the setting -> directX or use the custom EVR Renderer. Does the OSD work then? Quote
mlhillel Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Thanks Lars, It seems to have something to do with this, if I choose EVR then only the regular OSD works but no program information is available (the pop up box when changing a program) or subtitles but if VMR-7 or VMR-9 then both program information and subtitles are available. I don't know why EVR doesn't work, since MS recommends EVR for Win Vista and 7 and VMR-7 or VMR-9 for Win XP. I've tested DVBViewer on another PC running Win 7 H.P. and here it works with EVR On my regular Medion Media PC the video is handled by Intel Graphics while on the other PC its handled by NVIDIA Graphics so perhaps its a graphic hardware problem or did someone had a similar issue that could be solved? Regards, Mike Quote

Regards, Mike Were you able to get the DVB subtitles to work without problems after all? I am having a problem myself at the moment, so If you fixed your problem, I would appreciate if I could get your configuration (which decoder, renderer, settings, etc). So I could try them out before I start posting any Bug reports and TS samples. Quote
