NedZha Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 hi everybody I'm having dvbserver running all the time so that my bros can enjoy TV occasionally as they want to. while they just want to watch, I (as the owner of dvb card) schedule my recordings in that home server. ok, here's my little problem. in case one of my brothers takes control of dvb device, actually it's my program that's getting skipped. I just want to make sure this is not happening anymore. they rarely watch TV and I'm not planning to add another physical dvb card. any ideas? thx in advance Quote
desweil Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 Install the recording service. The Rec. Service has a better DVBServer included. This way you can let your bros watch TV and when a recording is scheduled the Rec. Service takes control of the dvbcard so it can not be interrupted. Your Bros can then still watch the program that is being recorded or switch to another channel on the same transponder. The installation guide is in the wiki(link above) Quote
NedZha Posted June 22, 2010 Author Posted June 22, 2010 my device is a skystar2 and with 4.6.0 driver I sometimes have problems if I start DVBViewer too early (e.g. putting it in startup folder). before this I thought recording service can have similar startup problems. seems it's time to give it a try. and thx again Quote
