First try to find - in this and other forums - more suggestions about the best driver version for your card and, second but more important, whenever you change something in the multimedia sw of your PC, *always* reapply the latest DirectX Runtimes updates...

I installed the latest DirectX runtimes, still same problem. Also another question, there is no display when you drag it over to the extended monitor, you can drag it over, but there is no display, if you drag it back to the primary monitor then it works again. I have windows xp installed atm, it worked on windows 7 though on this same computer but not now in xp. This same problem goes for BlazeDTV

Also, in dxdiag, it says that The file ati2dvag.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer.

Could this be the problem? if so how do i get it signed

I haven't any ATI card on my PCs so I can't lead you to a stright solution, but I'm pretty sure that there have been others user reporting here that not all ATI driver versions are working well (...at least for TV watching...), ie "newer drivers not always are the best choice"; so IMHO you have to investigate firstly in that direction.

I also think that there's a specialized ATI forum where you can dig more about this problem...

Yes, you are completly right! The 10 generation of the Catalyst driver worked awful on my XP system. Seems ATI is developing the catalyst driver in the direction for newer OS:es mainly and old ones such XP suffers. I would go for one of the Catalyst versions 9.4 to 9.10. These works satisfying to me. Downside is, it is really hard to get rid of catalyst 10.x. Had all sorts of crashing-trouble after downgrading. It ended with a complete cleanout and reinstall of xp to get the system stable again.

Urg! (I hate such a solution...)

Have you ever tryed to cleanup with The Catalyst Uninstaller?

Maybe it's worth a try for 16581513 to under-grade his ATI drivers...

Yes, i did try that uninstaller also to no avail. Its a pretty old tool as well, so not surprising it does not work.

Now a days im reeeally conservative on updating drivers generally. Im sticking to the motto..if it works do not touch :)

Yes, I agree... (at least until it isn't miss some important feature...)
