aaalskdj Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Question: How to setup if I want (1) to wake up PC from hibernate mode , and (2) achieve background recording? Do I need both recording service (to achieve background recording) and task scheduler (to wake up PC)? I read all the installation instruction, and installed both recording service and task schduler. In the DVBViewer EPG window, when I "prebook" a TV programme, the programme appears in task scheduler only. Doesn't run in background. When I "send to PVR", the programme appear in recording service only (will not wake up PC from hibernate). peter47 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 You don´t need the Taskscheduler, the RS wakes up the PC before starting recording Quote
aaalskdj Posted July 13, 2010 Author Posted July 13, 2010 Oh! Really? Then should I "send to PVR" or "prebook" if I need the PC be waken up and record accordingly? What is the difference? If I opt "send to PVR", the scheduled programme appear in recording service If I opt "prebook", the scheduled programme doesn't appear in recording service For both option, the scheduled programme appear in timer page of DVBViewer Quote
aaalskdj Posted July 15, 2010 Author Posted July 15, 2010 You don´t need the Taskscheduler, the RS wakes up the PC before starting recording I uninstalled Task Scheduler Plugin, but my PC fails to wake up from hibernation mode... According to feature page in DVBViewer website, "automatic startup from Hibernate/Standby on scheduled recordings DVB Task Scheduler Plugin" Is Task Scheduler Plugin necessary for hibernate? Where can I get an official solution? I have enabled hibernate function in WinXP, and can hibernate and wake up the PC manually. The problem is my PC fails to wake up according to the scheduled recording. Quote
desweil Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 you have to use - the DVB Task Scheduler OR - the Recording Service OR - other solutions based on Eventghost for example Quote
aaalskdj Posted July 16, 2010 Author Posted July 16, 2010 Can't solve the problem of hibernation wake up failure. Instead of hibernate, i opt to make my PC standby. Special thanks to peter47 and desweil Quote
